This Privacy Policy explains how Alarme ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and discloses information about you when you use our mobile application ("App"). We are dedicated to transparent data practices and minimizing personal data collection.
Offline-First Design: Alarme functions completely offline. You can use alarms, timers, stopwatches, and wake-up challenges without creating an account or sending any data to our servers.
1. Information We Collect
A. Information You Provide (Optional Account)
If you choose to create an account or sign in with Google to enable cloud backup across devices, we collect:
- Google Account Information: Your Google user ID, display name, email address, and profile photo URL provided via Firebase Authentication.
- Alarm & Preference Data: Scheduled alarm times, labels, repeat days, challenge configurations, and custom preferences stored in Google Cloud Firestore.
B. Device & Usage Information (Stored Locally)
- Pedometer / Step Data: For the "Walking Challenge", the app accesses device step sensors in real-time to verify steps taken to dismiss the alarm. This sensor data is processed strictly in-memory on your device and is never uploaded or shared.
- Notification & Alarm Scheduling: Exact alarm triggers and notification permissions are managed entirely locally by Android's
AlarmManager.
C. Diagnostic & Analytics Data
If Firebase Crashlytics is enabled, anonymized stack traces and device models may be collected during crashes to help us debug application stability.
2. How We Use Your Information
| Category | Purpose | Storage Location |
|---|---|---|
| Account Details | User identification and multi-device cloud synchronization | Google Firebase (EU/US secure servers) |
| Alarm Configurations | Firing alarms at user-specified times and restoring routines | Local device database & Firestore (if signed in) |
| Physical Step Sensors | Dismissing alarms during the Walking Challenge | Strictly on-device (never transmitted) |
| Subscription Status | Unlocking Alarme Pro features and managing trial status | Google Play Billing API |
3. Android Permissions We Request
Alarme requests only the minimum Android permissions required for core alarm clock and challenge functionality:
- USE_EXACT_ALARM / SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM: Essential to trigger alarms precisely on time, even when the device is in Doze/deep sleep mode.
- ACTIVITY_RECOGNITION: Used strictly during the active Walking Challenge to count physical steps required to dismiss the alarm.
- POST_NOTIFICATIONS: Required on Android 13+ to display upcoming alarm notifications and timer alerts.
- FOREGROUND_SERVICE: Ensures alarm sounds and countdown timers run uninterrupted without being prematurely terminated by battery savers.
- WAKE_LOCK: Wakes the device screen so you can view and complete wake-up challenges.
4. Data Sharing & Third-Party Services
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We only share data with vetted infrastructure providers necessary for app operation:
- Google Firebase (Authentication & Cloud Firestore): For secure authentication and encrypted cloud synchronization. Firebase Privacy Policy
- Google Play In-App Billing: Handles transaction processing securely without exposing your credit card details to our servers.
5. Account & Data Deletion (Google Play Compliance)
You have full ownership of your data. You can delete your account and all associated cloud data at any time:
Instant Self-Serve Deletion: Open Alarme → Navigation Drawer → Account → Tap Delete Account & Cloud Data. This permanently removes your authentication record and Firestore database documents immediately.
You may also submit a deletion request via our Account Deletion Page or email moderntechart4@gmail.com.
6. Children's Privacy
Alarme is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
